Badminton Initial

LO5:

I have been playing badminton for a long time now so I have known the badminton team, faculty and players in UWC for a long time now. I tend to play doubles and have had the same doubles partner for the past three years. During badminton, we were working on our collaboration and communication skills. It is important that we both know to communicate with one another well because badminton is a fast-paced sport that requires very fast reflexes. Bad communication would slow down our plays and make it more difficult for us to win matches. As we have known one another for many years, it was somewhat easy to work together. However, both of us had taken a break from badminton for a period of time. Due to this, it took a bit of time getting used to working with one another again. One challenge I had was that my partner and I were already friends, due to this, it was difficult to switch from having fun to being serious and trying our best to play and win matches. The switch from having fun to being serious is something I really need to work on because I have become aware (LO1) that when I am not serious during matches, my performance tends to be weaker.
