Mae sot empathy map – Token Ako

1. What would the delegate be thinking & feeling before arriving to the conference?

I think he will be feeling quite excited to meet the people at the conference; there is going to be a diverse range of people from different ethnic and culture groups. He may also be looking forward to gain communication skills in this conference and apply these skills in other parts of his life. However, he may also feel a bit nervous in meeting different people but he knows he will try as much as he can to mingle and network with others.

2. What would the delegate be most interested in discussing at the conference?

He would be interested in discussing a range of issues from local to global peacemaking, ecological issues, major conflicts around the world, anti-racist practices and politics. He wants to learn how to tackle problems as a group so he can then apply this when brainstorming ideas to tackle challenges in his local community. He may also want to network with other delegates from different places and experience and discuss about ‘personal branding.’

 3. What might the delegate want from you during ‘downtime’ (lunches, etc)?

He will probably want to get to as many people, and however much he can as much as possible as he really wants to meet people with various experiences and backgrounds. He seems to want to maximize his opportunities and get the most out of it as he can. Questions he may ask might be different ways of tackling challenges (peace related and internal struggles)

4. What might the delegate be most worried about leading up to the conference?

He is quite confident in Burmese and english so language barriers won’t be a problem. He may be a bit worried about the things he may not be confident in such as public speaking, and perhaps how he will network and mingle with the different delegates.

5. What learnings will the delegate put into action after the conference wraps?

He seems like he would use every opportunity he has to do something, which motivates him to success. Token hopes to spread awareness about the conference and use his networking and communication skills to collaborate with other conferences/forums in his university, former delegates, and organisations such as AIESEC and YSEALI to set up educational events to empower Youth.
