Food Bank helping to Bridge the Gap of food insecurities

Nichol is the CEO of 4 FOOD DISTRIBUTION COMPANIES and the co-founder of the Foodbank Singapore.  She has a lot of good memories of her childhood, including her roles as students leader since the age of seven, trying to maintain peace.

In 2012 she started the Foodbank organization which focuses on helping to bridge the gap of food insecurities. It is estimated that 1.3 billion tones annually are wasted at a global level, which is 4 times enough for the world’s 868 million people are starving. Singapore alone wasted 785,500 tones of food in 2015 which was more than enough to feed 387,000 food, insecure people. Even though it is challenging to collect food in Singapore, the Foodbank was able to collect 219,600 KG of food and donated them to around 100,000 individuals in total. Currently, there are 190 organizations being supported by Foodbank, including churches, mosques, temples and so on. Nichol wants everyone to think of the impact our donation has on the life of food-insecure individuals.
