When it comes to a course of action to tackle climate change, the perspective that I personally support is responsibility must be shared between everyone. The reason why I support this perspective is because, change can only really happen when everyone works together. If only one country or a few countries actually do something about this, nothing much will actually happen compared to if everyone decided to tackle climate change. Climate Change is a global problem. To solve it everyone needs to come together to reach a global/international agreement. To tackle climate change, international actions need to be taken. Everything needs to be done with well-being of the climate taken into consideration. Countries and people need to be economically developed so that they are less vulnerable to the impacts of climate change. All countries need to take a binding emissions restriction. Carbon taxes should be introduced too, to make big and small corporations more self-aware of the amount of emissions that are let out because of them and their business. I didn’t agree with the first perspective as much as I have agreed with this one because although I do agree with the fact that past emitters should pay for what they have done, I think that as a big group of nations, we can do so much more, and eventually stop/slow down this problem. I know that people who don’t add to the problem of climate change, but are suffering from it (countries in the Pacific are being flooded) really don’t have any fault in this. But if everyone works together we could get more done and make a bigger impact. I also do not agree with the perspective that Economic Growth and development must come first because climate change is a problem that is already happening and it will continue to keep happening if we don’t do anything. If we could all solve this problem, countries can peacefully go back to economically growing without hurting the climate. But I do agree with the fact that economically developed countries should be doing more and investing more in renewable energy and solutions to this problem. These countries have already gotten their turn to develop, while at the expense of the natural world, so now they need to give back to the world when it needs them the most.
