Reflection for the whole PSE

IB, PSE

PSE this year has been quite a journey, from learning about study habits and tips to learning about sexual assault and the world outside of UWC. I think many things that PSE has taught us has been really good, especially when we get to read scenarios about different things. It makes us much more aware of different types of situations people face in life and how we would actually tackle it if we found ourselves in that specific situation. I like the exercises we did about our identity because it was different to what we always did in school about identity. I liked class discussions we had too as it allows us to look at things from different perspectives that I might not have thought about myself.

PSE Reflection for Diversity and Inclusion

IB, PSE

This unit has helped me to learn about what a diverse community UWC really is. We all have some shared values through learning in this school for some time, however due to so many of us coming from different households and different racial backgrounds we have different values and beliefs when it comes to certain things. It also made me realise that although we bring our values and beliefs with us to school and some of our beliefs might clash with others, we still manage to get along very well and include all sorts of people in our friend groups or conversations.

Tolerance inclusion and respect Unit Reflection

Moving from a Bystander to an Advocate

Before going over the slides/poster for this, I didn’t exactly know what it meant to properly be a bystander. I always assumed that the best thing to do is to intervene and tell perpetrator to go away, but I didn’t realise that it could inflict danger on oneself. These rules/steps are a very easy way to visualise and understand every possible way that we could help in to prevent issues from becoming worse.
