Teaching Academic English
You may have students who have identified EAL needs in your classes. You may have students with complex language backgrounds in your classes. You may have students who previously received targeted EAL support and can now access the classroom materials independently. You may have monolingual English students in your classes.
All of these students benefit from being explicitly taught the academic language of your subject. The strategies listed here may help.
Language Structures
