First Aid & TRIPS

UWCSEA is committed to ensuring everyone in the community is regularly trained in First Aid. It currently offers staff a choice of two courses depending on responsibilities.

Find out more below:

Standard First Aid

conducted in partnership with MHI

If you work at the College and don’t participate in trips to adventure or developing city locations AND you have not completed a first aid course within the last two years, this is the course for you.

Sign up now, and confidently handle mishaps on campus or when you are out on location with students.

The course comprises:

 – 8 hours of online content to be completed prior to face-to-face training

    workshop

 – 1 day onsite (includes exit test)

Outdoor First Aid

conducted in partnership with MHI

You should undertake this course if you accompany students on adventurous or developing city overseas trips AND your current Outdoor First Aid was completed over 24 months ago (we know it has a 3 year validity but you have told us you want to remind yourself of best practice every 2 years).

The course comprises:

– 2 hours of online content: Offsite Trips Training (see below for more       information)

– 2 days onsite

 – 1 60 minute face-to-face session with Oliver Sampson and Chris           Newman to talk about common situations staff encounter on trips

UWCSEA’S Offsite Trips Training (OTT)

We want you to feel confident with the processes of  accompanying students on trips offsite, as well as supported by the structures in place at the College.

You can complete much of the Offsite Trips Training as an online self-access module.

Once completed,  you will be invited to attend High T sessions to answer questions you may have.

*You should re-take OTT every 2 years (but with the new module, you can    access the resources at any time to remind yourself of the processes).

Go to https://uwcsea-pl.theteamie.com Use your UWC google login and password to get access. Click on the Offsite Trip Training Module.

Let Claire Firat or Anitah Ani know when you have completed it so we can update your CIMS PD record.
