When I first toured the school, I initially noticed the amount of service and activity opportunities available for all the students. The service here is divided into four categories: local, college, global concern, and focus group. It is mandatory for G10FIB students to take up a local or college service for the first two terms. I personally am interested in two services already: Cognitive Rehabilitation @ Apex Harmony Lodge and Cooking/Baking with Simei Care Center. I think working locally with either the elderly or young children would allow me to practice skills catered to different age groups outside of my own and gain a better understanding of how to interact with them. I also intend to be in contact with SHINE Children and Youth Services, an organisation I have volunteered at previously. I would like to continue to work with them, hopefully over breaks and weekends, to help out at their nighttime programs and learn more about their cause.
