When I first came in UWCSEA, performing in Culturama was something that I really wanted to do. However, in my first year, I did not sign up for Culturama as I was not confident in my abilities to dance and to manage my time as I needed time to adjust to the school. However, after spending some lunch time almost alone (as most of my friends had joined Culturama) and seeing the Culturama performance, I decided that I’ll gather my confidence and just try to audition nonetheless. I auditioned for three countries, which was completely nerve wracking, and was accepted in China. In our first practice, I was quite intimidated by our team as everyone seemed to dance so well and the final dance looked quite difficult. But with time, I learnt that they are really willing to help and are really fun people to be around with (Lo 5). Looking forward, I hope that I’ll be able to improve in my dance routine for Culturama and expand my social circle by being with this group.
