CAS Management

Here is what I am planning on doing for CAS:

1) Creativity- I would like to sign up for Photography for one season as it has been an interest of mine since I was very young. My father is an avid photographer, which helped me become fond of photo taking and story telling. I feel that taking photography will help me broaden my perspective on the world around me and can help me “capture” all the important memories I keep at my time here in UWCSEA. I am also planning on starting a funny news show, similar to one in middle school called “East Talks”, as a creative project on my own. I am still not sure whether it is possible, though I would love to get this started around Season 3.

2) Activity- I am going to sign up for MUN in all seasons as I had a lot of fun doing it in Grade 10 and would love to achieve more skills while doing it in Grade 11. I was fortunate enough to get an award in the Singapore International Model United Nations(SIMUN) and I am hoping this will continue in G11 so that I can take up the role of  a chair later on in the year. I am also going to be signing up for U19 Badminton in season 3 as it has been a sport I have been learning and playing for a while now and would love to do well for the team this year.  Unfortunately, I didn’t make the team last year, which was disappointing, but I am now motivated to do even better this time around in the try outs.

3) Service- I am going to sign up for Try4Cambodia GC for all seasons, as well as Computer Programming Skills for people in Hougang Care Centre. I was in Try4Cambodia last year and took up a leadership position(finance manager) because I went on the Krousar Thmey trip twice and I know the kids there very well. This year, I am hoping to become a chair or a vice chair as I feel I have the commitment, determination and experience to carry out the task. Computer Skills for people in Hougang Care Centre is a new service that I am taking this year in order to fulfil my local service compulsory commitment. I worked with Hougang Care Centre briefly in the 7th grade for BTC subject and enjoyed my time there. Computer skills is something I know I am good at, hence, I would like to give that skill back to people who need it.
