How will the beauty and terrain of Japan help me see trekking in a new light?

I chose this trip because I’ve never been to Japan so I’m rather curious as to how the whole experience will play out as it’s all very brand new to me. Secondly, I’ve never been very fond of trekking because all three times I have trekked were in similar conditions, and it was always rather forest-covered. The problem for me was that I didn’t really prefer these conditions and although there was a forest view, that didn’t get me much motivated either. I always thought trekking is something that could be fun for me under the right circumstances and this Japan trekking trip seems to be perfect. Due to the current typhoon in Japan, we will now be trekking in a national park (Oze national park) instead of our original trekking route, this makes the trip even more exciting for me because according to my google search, this park is quite beautiful, a little more so than the trail.

I am worried about a few things. Firstly, this will be the most consecutive trekking I would have done to date so I’m quite curious as to how this will affect my overall stamina, energy and happiness. I’m also worried about general time management. Being on a trip where you are in a new location and campsite every day requires great organisational skills and although I have done it before, it still manages to stress me out. Finally, I’m curious as to how the friend situation will go because this year I’m going with a group of people I’ve hardly met before my trip. Friends are what made all my trips very memorable so hopefully, I’ll be able to make new friends during the trip.

I’m quite excited to go on the trip as well. As mentioned before there is a lot of beautiful sites to see when we get there. Other than that I’m very excited to get immersed into the culture of Japan, I’m not completely sure what we will be doing on the trip due to the typhoon but there will definitely be some sort of a cultural aspect to the trip. I’m looking forward to that a lot because I’ve always been very interested in learning more about new cultures in general but Japan has always been very interesting in particular.

Overall even though there are a few things I’m worried about, there are many others that I’m excited about, especially seeing how this experience will change my opinion on trekking and help me feel better about time management.
