Electronic Keyboard #2

In November, I performed three grade 8 pieces for my grade 8 examination from the London College of Music. I received the results, recently and attained distinction. Now, I am pursuing a diploma in teaching electronic keyboard from the same institute. The diploma requires me to teach a student and perform three pieces. I am teaching my sister how to play the keyboard. I have planned and created lesson plans for her for the next six months so that she can complete the Grade 1 exam. I found it quite challenging to teach her as this is the first time I’m instructing someone. I also found that I need to improve my communication skills with her in order to better support her in her learning journey. To do this, I have started preparing how I’m going to teach her in advance asking her questions about any difficulties she is facing while playing.

Learning Outcomes Demonstrated:

  • Learning outcome 1: Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth
  • Learning outcome 2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process
  • Learning outcome 3: Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience
