LO4 Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences

The musical was such a key moment in 2021 as well as it was the first time we had a live audience for a performance. There were many challenges, the main one being time management and stress. As I had a lead role, I had many extra rehearsals and the musical was happening over the busiest times of IB. It was also my first time taking on a lead role in a musical which definitely came with its own challenges, from which I have developed new skills as well as a performer. Being flexible and managing stress was therefore very important for me so that I don’t break under the tremendous pressure, and so that neither of my commitment to the musical or my academics was compromised. Because I couldn’t change anything about the situation I was in, it was again about changing my attitude and mindset. Seeing the musical as something that I enjoy and a relaxation instead of a task really helped me to work through the musical alongside my academic tasks. I think communicating with my teachers and Lindsey was also crucial so that I’m not sacrificing the musical or my academics for the other.
