EE – Reflection 2

After submitting my first draft, my supervisor and I discussed some possible changes to improve the quality of my data. We considered options such as changing the concentration of Manuka honey, and comparing the relationship of that with the current data that I had on varying temperatures. Another option we looked into was re-doing the experiment, but also increasing the range of my independent variable (temperature) so that the data would provide a stronger evidence of how different temperatures of incubation of Manuka honey could affect the inhibition of bacterial growth. Through the first draft, I gained a better appreciation of how to present my investigation through a written report. I learned to consider every aspect of the experiment including challenging but realistic approaches, critical analysis of my data as well as credible research to support my data. I resorted to my supervisor for a foundational guide, such as the use of t-tests, followed by my own rigorous research on the science behind my study to produce a clearer essay.
