The rehearsals have started and even though I had felt really nervous in the beginning, I feel that I’m doing a lot better now. My initial insecurity was that I wouldn’t be able to teach anybody the dance moves and that I would look stupid if I tried, but that was an irrational fear, I was actually able to do quite well (LO4). It was easier to overcome this fear as I worked along with my two partners who were also going through the same nervousness, together we were able to keep each other motivated (LO5). On the first few days of rehearsals, I realised that there was nothing to really be afraid of, even though we didn’t know many of the students in the dance personally, it was also a chance to make more friends (LO2). On the first rehearsal day, we realised that the current pace of our teaching was not good enough to be able to finish the whole dance in the small number of rehearsals available before the show. We realised that we would have to set some rules for dancers to come on time and to have set a strict deadline for ourselves before every rehearsal to be able to teach the dancers up to a certain point (LO2). I feel more comfortable with my role and I am really enjoying being a dance leader.
