Reflection 1
Learning Outcome(s):
4: Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences. Students can articulate the stages from conceiving an idea to executing a plan for a CAS experience or series of CAS experiences.
5: Demonstrate the skills and recognise the benefits of working collaboratively.
Initially, as we started to plan for the TEDxYouth event, it was a bit difficult to get into the flow of things as the communication style was a bit different. It was decided that as the communications team, we would help to organize the event and that the team wouldn’t actually have to meet every week face to face but that we could work through emails. This is a method of working that is used commonly in official businesses but I had never encountered it myself and it was a good learning point for me because it taught me to really convey my queries and thoughts through emails in short and concise manners. I learned that this method actually allowed us to finish some tasks a bit faster when we got the hang of it. I am also really enjoying learning more about the different speakers and their talks, I have been able to talk to some speakers and develop their speeches with them. This has been a rewarding experience so far and I look forward to seeing the final products.
