Prompt 3: Reviewing your Leadership
I believe that during the whole planning leading up to the event was a bit stressful for the communications team. Getting in touch with speakers and other team members required a lot of effective communication which was not always possible since there were many tasks at hand. Over time, I think we were able to develop the skills required to be able to work collaboratively and split the tasks between the team members in terms of everyone’s preferences. We had trouble at the beginning with coordinating the right times for and tasks being undertaken by whom — for example during the website development and design, logos and printing tickets. I realized that in order to meet deadlines we need a set a solid end goal and deadline for each task to work towards. A lot of the times there were differences that came up amongst and between the two teams regarding communicating with the speakers and coaching them according to plan. It was important to put aside the small differences and learn from them as we moved forward to achieve our goal with determination. I really enjoyed my experience of helping to organize TEDxYouth 2019, it helped me develop many new skills regarding teamwork and I really enjoyed working with speakers on their talks, it gave me more knowledge about new topics and the global perspectives.
