Social Media Video Project

Social Media Video Project

In our Digital Perspectives class, we have been making videos on Social Media. In my video, I discuss the Advantages and Disadvantages of Social Media. Working towards the final product, we did a lot of planning and organising before we even got to action.

The following two slides give some insights into the planning stages of this project:

After we finished our planning, we started taking clips to get material for our project. In the first few weeks, after gaining clips and our shots, we put the film together as a rough draft.

This is the attached link to the rough draft of the video.

Reflections on this Rough Draft

a) The most important improvement I need to make to the video is adding the audio for sections intended to voice over and making sure this coordinates wells and adds appropriately to the narrative of the video.

b) The current video is at around 2 minutes. Working on choosing effective transitions and looking for areas wherein footage should be added to link gaps.

c) ‘Social Media can open lines of communication about difficult topics’ may be the hardest point to explain as it is very implicit and ironic as ‘difficult topics’ may some time arise due to social media itself. To explain this contradiction is tricky.

After some individual work and final tweaking. We finished our projects!

This is the link to the FINAL Video.

These are my personal reflections about my ATL’s for this project.
