For Healthy Living this week I decided to learn how to make Aglio Olio, which a type of pasta. Aglio Olio has a series of health benefits (in comparison to other pastas and in general) such as :
I followed this video to find a recipe for the pasta. The recipe follows as such:
- Add some water and 2-3 drops of plant based oil in a pan, allow to heat up and add spaghetti
- Chop garlic finely (10 sections of a clove)
- Chop parsley finely
- Cut, wash and steam broccoli
- Drain the water from the spaghetti one it is cooked and add 4-5 tablespoons of olive oil to a pan
- Add chopped garlic and cook till it is light brown
- Add the pasta in the pan along with parsley, herbs, spices, pasta water, salt, pepper and 1 teaspoon of lemon juice
- Sautee the broccoli in butter, salt and pepper and add to the pasta
It was a quick dish to make and I can see myself using this recipe in the future.
