My research for my EE so far has been very thorough and includes a range of sources and perspectives, which allow my analysis to be more nuanced as I am drawing comparisons between different art movements and commercialisation. My supervisor suggested I structure some of my essay like an IB Visual Arts Comparative Study in order to focus more on the artwork itself then expand to bigger ideas, and then continue my more theoretical analysis using more artistic terminology.

He also said my writing style was cohesive and effective, which is crucial when writing a subject essay that has no predetermined structure. Throughout this process my knowledge of my topic has grown as I got a more global, historical and intercultural understanding of street art. I’ve also learned how important finding credible sources are to writing an essay, as expert opinion is a far more reliable basis for answering my thesis than op-eds or community threads.
