I joined the school’s interest club “Science Society ” at the beginning of Grade 9, and we discussed a lot of fun things in the field of science such as forces (strong force, weak force, electromagnetic force and gravitational force).
In the recent two months, we prepared for our annual event Science Fair, which is a group-conducted project researching a specific area in science. There are around 10 projects in total presented in the Science Fair, and some of them are from the other interest club such as “Astronomy Society” as well.
In the week of 18 Feb, we presented our Science Fair project which is focused on “Ionic propulsion”. My job in my team of 4 is to explain to the “clients” how an ionic engine works. Which involved a lot of research such as thermionic propulsion, electric field, magnetic field, and electron ionization.
The fair went pretty well in my perspective since this is the first year of the science fair, there aren’t many people every day to come and visit the “fair”, however, we explained our project to around 30 people throughout three lunch time. I enjoyed my time explaining my part of the project because I feel like giving other people more knowledge is a good thing to do, it results in them improving however during the time you explain to them you yourself is improving as well!
