One major learning aspect throughout the EE process was organisation. Though I had spent time reading and analysing, my focus was on my own individual understanding of the novel instead of researching other perspectives of it. In future similar projects, I would have changed my approach to allocating a portion of time in researching other scholastic perspectives regarding similar topics, though I had difficulty researching a topic as specific as mine. If I had more self discipline in time and research, my essay would be more sophisticated in the discovery of different views. Growing up as a non-English speaking person, this task was definitely challenging. Although the final product would have been better if I had been more transparent to my supervisor, the process had been a valuable experience. Through this, I have gained critical thinking and problem-solving skills through the obstacles along the way. I enjoyed reading this dystopian novel, which is something that I would not normally read leisurely. Regardless of my satisfaction with the final submission, this process has given me a better understanding of myself, and will certainly benefit me at university in the future.
