Throughout our Project Week trip, we helped with recycling at Nei Hu, visited Long Shan temple, and explored the city of Taipei all while speaking in as much Mandarin as we could, which was ultimately one of my main goals coming into Project Week. Whilst helping out at Nei Hu, we were tasked to help prepare daily lunches for the volunteers at the recycling center. Doing this made me realize how our actions directly impacted those we were helping: if we did not cook these meals correctly, the volunteers would not have much to eat and it would be our responsibility.

While visiting Long Shan temple, we also had to be careful while filming our video (as part of Creativity) so as to not seem rude or intrusive to the locals who were praying — this also made me better understand how my actions directly impacted those around us.
