The feedback I received was that I should try to be more structured when I do my real IO. I should shorten my introduction and try to improve my micro analysis. I should try to make my purpose, reception, and audience more clear as well as more in-depth. Furthermore, I should try to be more balanced with my analysis as I spoke about the first text for 8 minutes and only had 2 minutes to speak about the second text. Additionally, I need to try to only provide relevant information and not repeat myself.  I realize that I may have panicked and started repeating myself towards the end. I understand now that I need to be more concise. Also after reflecting upon this, I chose the wrong global issue. Lastly, I need to relate the texts back to the global issue as well as my refined question/statement.

The practice IO texts were similar to the one I did as I mostly talked about Culture, Identity, and Community. Specifically, I had talked about women. I think I needed to do more research on Unilever campaigns and the social issue of women’s inequality.

My strengths were that: I talked about the context pretty well. The macro analysis was good. I used key terms as well. I also tried to answer well in the QnA.

My weakness: I need to have a balance between both texts. I have better timing as well as I need to answer my micro in more depth. I need to relate to my global issue.

Brainstorm, choose better text types. I need to practice ahead of time.
