HS Pottery Club #1

LO1

Since being able to make a thumb pot, I have branched out, learning more and more pottery skills. One of those skills which I am proud of is using sharp tools to create and express details on my particular clay structure. For example, I sculpted a small mountain range but it didn’t look like one. I used a small metal knife, randomly carving out the surfaces of parts of the mountain. This created much more texture, making it look more realistic.

To continue from here, I hope to improve the overall quality of my art pieces. From the thumb pot to a clay bowl, even though it looked aesthetically pleasing, some parts held more quality than others. The sides of the bowl might have had the right even thickness, but the bottom of it is uneven. Moreover, the walls of the thumb pot were uneven, making it look more like an ovoid shape as seen from above.
