Gili Eco Trust (FINAL Reflection)

LO3, LO5

My first time being in a GC has taught me that as a group of people, we can raise awareness at a much bigger scale if you were one person. Out of all my CAS, Gili Eco Trust has really improved my collaboration with other peers. In relation to that, the main thing I have learnt from participating and engaging in this GC is that thorough and extensive planning is required to execute a project.

Near the start of the year, Gili Eco Trust was one of the GCs which took part in the yearly Family Festival. We were in charge of  games/activities for the children. The aim of Family Festival is to educate families and children about the many NGOs all around the world. We had to plan games/activities which satisfy this, spreading awareness as well as making it fun for the people. We used many of our sessions to brainstorm any ideas, and then we had to narrow it down to the best ones, which took some thinking and discussion. Moreover, we had to take into account the type of audience we were receiving, which were young teenagers and children. We had to design activities which were simple yet achieved the same goal – raising awareness about Gilli.
