Rainforest Restoration project season 2

During Friday CAS my friend Callum Woodward asked me some questions about my experience in Rainforest Restoration project (RRP). This is the script of the interview.

Callum: Hello Marlen! I know you are doing RRP now. Can you name something which stuck in your mind about your experience?

Marlen: Yeah, I take RRP since Dec 2017. The first thing which stuck in my mind is that plants are extremely interesting to study! This service includes a lot of scientific stuff so I really enjoy working with it!

Callum: Oh, I guess you take Biology or ESS, don’t you?

Marlen: Yes, I take Biology and Chemistry.

Callum: HL?

Marlen: Yeah, HL.

Callum: Nice! Then can you Describe some interactions inside your service team.

Marlen:I will tell you about our interactions with the service leader Ms Mireille. She is a very strong leader, so she makes us work very hard even when we don’t want to work hard. She might scold and then we start working better with each other. She motivates a lot!

Callum: So what have you learnt about yourself throughout this experience?

Marlen: I’ve learnt a lot of positive things, for example, that I actually can be useful, I can work in gardens and rainforests. Also I would never think that botany, the science of plants, would be exciting for me.

Callum: How does compare to the experiences you have done before?

Marlen: Well, to be honest, RRP is one of the most active projects that is done in UWC. So, unlike other services which I tried we act a lot more than we talk.

Callum: How can you apply it to your daily life and how does it affect to your IB?

Marlen: Considering IB, I’ve already said that RRP includes lot of biology and ESS. Also it is extremely useful when you know how to identify, plant and treat different trees.

Callum: Thank you so much for your interview!

Marlen: Thank you for asking!
