Lighthouse and Sustainable Development Goals

Reduced inequalities.

In Lighthouse, we have the chance to work with amazing kids. They are cheerful, kind, lovely and always happy to come to our school. Every time we welcome them at the drop-off point in the school, we can see their big smiles from the windows of the bus. When we give some colour pens, they draw and colour. When we play bowling with them, they are happy to score and sad to miss. They also enjoy dance and sing. Just like every small children.

The only difference is that they face more difficulties in their lives. They are visually or/and hearing impaired, or have autism, down syndrome or other mental conditions. But just because of this, to my mind we shouldn’t treat them totally differently. We do have to be more careful and conscientious around them, but that is all. Otherwise, we can play with them, we can have fun together, and most importantly, we can learn from them a lot.
