Service Logistics – Reflection

What is Service Logistics?

Service Logistics is comprised of a team of people that come together each week to help organize the materials and resources are owned by the Service Office. The aim of the service is to increase the efficiency and speed up the process that takes place when other services request to check out materials. The team comes together and spends their time helping the Service Office check in and check out any resources that other services have taken throughout the week. Service Logistics is an important part of the service office that greatly assists the people working in the service office to increase the effectiveness the process of checking in and checking out resources.

What Skills Did You Develop Through Your Service?

Throughout the course of the service, I have developed skills in multiple areas such as organization, teamwork, and time management. The organization factor of the service has helped me to greatly develop my organization skills which I can use outside of the service in other aspects of schoolwork. Another skill that I have developed is teamwork, being able to come together each week and work together with the other members of Service Logistics have taught me a lot about working in a team and assigning certain roles to people in order to increase the efficiency of the process. I have also developed skills in time management, as there is a limited time each week for us to check in and check out all the resources that have been used throughout the week, being able to manage our time properly and ensure that we get the work done is an essential part of maintaining the service. Service Logistics has helped me develop multiple skills that have been used for the service and will continue to be useful outside of the service.

How Could You Apply What You Learned In Other Situations?

The skills that I have developed throughout the course of the service will continue to be useful in schoolwork and other aspects of life even after I have left the service. The organization skills that I have developed will help me with schoolwork and future projects that I may work on. The skills that I have developed in teamwork will also assist me when working on future projects in teams and will help me collaborate more effectively which will make me a more useful team member. Time management will help me with almost anything that I may do in the future, to be able to manage myself and complete tasks on time and in an efficient manner will assist me with future projects and assessments that I may receive.
