EE Day Reflection

A majority of today was spent in the lab, as I plated different amounts of fungus to test which ones grow the best. I learnt how best to use a micropipette and simultaneously ensure that the environment was sterile. It was quite complicated in the beginning to handle multiple tools at the same time, but with practice it became routine like. I realised the importance of being alert throughout the process particularly because by zoning out making irreversible mistakes are very easy. Despite these challenges, I was proud of the ease with which I managed to complete all my practical work today, and because I had planned everything in advance it was much easier to execute. My next steps are finding research to support my practical work, and a through scientific justification on how the various preservatives inhibit fungal growth. After this, I need to follow up with an introduction for my extended essay, in which I will introduce my EE. I want to also look into the cultural significance of the preservatives I am using, and lastly establish what I need to do in my final round of data collection.
