Starting Project Week Reflection

LO 3 Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience

Hi! This is my first project week planning reflection. I am very grateful to be a part of group 29, or in official IB languages, GROUP/GROUPE/GRUPO 29. We are 6 people who will be going to KOLKATA INDIA to help the Voice of World GC and learn dancing from Indian superstars.

Contrary to previous experiences where I might be more in control or have more knowledge of what’s going on, I am totally delving into the unknown this time, although with similar excitement. I am going to India for the first time, venturing into territory where no JINGYING WANGS have gone before. I was not a part of the Kolkata GC and I chose this group (or did the group choose me? or is it time to accept fatalism?) in part because I had already planned a great trip for my GC that went completely out of the window due to religious holiday reasons, so I decided to choose an experience that I would never otherwise have. I have gone on a school trip with some in my group and are familiar with others, so I am happy about the group dynamic – in that we’re all quite hardworking and forgiving. I believe those qualities might be of tremendous use later in the planning stage, that is not an actual stage but a figure of speech.
