I knew from the beginning that I wanted to chose biology as my EE subject and I have always been interested in different diseases. That is how I first thought about bacteria and serious infections. I also have a personal connection to this topic, because during my project week in Gili, Indonesia I got one of the most serious food poisoning, called salmonella typhoid which affected me in a lot of ways; physically as well as mentally. After recovering from this illness, my supervisor and I thought writing about salmonella typhoid from two sides, as a patient with my own data and as a researcher, would be something that could make my EE outstanding and exceptional.  Also, after my first meeting I asked different teachers and doctors for help.
