Interim reflection

I’ve done my research about salmonella typhoid by having read articles, journals, websites and epidemiologies and having discussions with several people working in the field of immunology and disease control to understand the Salmonella bacterium itself, the disease, the symptoms and the different ways of preventing this bacterial infection. The main difficulty I was facing was to make a direct link between different studies or strategies and my own case since I myself got vaccinated and still got the infection. I am still looking for enough data to support my research question about people who got infected although they have been vaccinated. My supervisor suggested finding digital articles about the efficacy of vaccines that I can possibly compare with my own data. This led to changing my research question which is now more focused on how effective typhoid vaccinations keep people from being infected and hospitalized by Salmonella typhoid.
