During this frustrating and new time of the whole world experiencing COVID-19, many of us have been stuck inside what is now a normalised term; quarantine. While we are all on temporary house arrest, music has been something I have had playing for several hours daily. Personally, I find myself straying away from the slow, mellow music I usually listen to, typically under the category of indie pop, and delving into my second favourite genre, the 80s! 80s music continues to be some of the most upbeat and uplifting music, the perfect cure for staying at home!
Some of my favourites:
- Don’t Dream Its Over by the Crowded House
- There’s A Kind Of Hush by Herman’s Hermits
- Sweet Home Alabama by Lynyrd Skynyrd
- Islands In The Stream by Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton
- Mr. Blue Sky by Electric Light Orchestra
- Cool Cat by Queen
- Under the Boardwalk by The Drifters
