ELP – Monologue

POV [Marlene]
Before Act 3 – On the way to Joyce’s house

I can’t believe she still lives here. After six goddamn years Joyce! Like just look at these streets. And I just bet that her salary hasn’t even increased by a cent. I think she’d be much better off with Frank – but it’s not to anyone’s surprise that she couldn’t manage him. Mum and dad are surely way more proud of me since I’m off in London with a job and people who actually respect me for what I can achieve. Oh god is it too late to bail yet? I swear to god if Joyce has told Angie what really happened…

She’s growing up after all, she must know something. I dont believe her to be a stupid one. Anyways … I’m quite sure Angie likes me right? Oh it would be such a disappointment if the dress doesn’t fit. After all, it costed quite an extensive amount in comparison to other dresses out there. But I guess she deserves it after all those birthdays and Christmases I have missed. Six years really does pass by quickly when preoccupied. I can’t remember the last time I even had a holiday.
