4PM Children's Empowerment Through the Arts

Who Are We?

We are a group of grade 11 students who, as you may already know, work with a local service called 4 PM. The service essentially aims to provide an education for children of the Malay community that come from low-income backgrounds. The children we work with are generally around the ages of 5 -7.

Our Role

As students, our job was to prepare service sessions for them that would be filled with fun activities that also supplement their curriculum. We maintained this by communicating with the 4 PM teachers, who gave us valuable guidance. We have also created presentations to educate people on the issue of income inequality in Singapore.

Who Do We Work With?

4 PM is an essential service to the Singaporean community as they provide an education for children of the Malay community that come from low-income backgrounds. As a result, they address SDG 4 and SDG 10. UWC supports them by providing resources that we collect from the college community. The service is essential in providing children with the opportunity to have a quality education just like every child should. Their recognition of the importance of education for children makes this service so valuable.
