In class we discussed the 3 main concepts of Religious Knowledge Systems to be:
- Explaining the ‘unknown’
Having faith and believing in things that you aren’t certain exists. For instance, many people say that they don’t believe God’s exists because they haven’t ‘seen, heard, or touched’ them.
- ‘Moral’ Standards/Framework
A sense of moral values, being able to distinguish between right and wrong.
- Authority (shared knowledge)
We need a figure of authority to guide/aid others. Someone who shares the same belief and values.
