  • Medusa who has snakes for hair—–metaphor for jealousy, emotions can turn people into a monster, the thoughts are the evil
  • Use of “soured”- at one point it was fresh
  • Change from one state to another, decaying
    • damaging, rotten, ruined
  • yellow fanged-venomous, poisonous
  • Bullet tears- an oxymoron, soft fluid vs hard metal.
    • machine gun, crying a lot

Are you terrified?

  • Breaks her tone, talks directly to the audience
    • not sure of herself
    • Uncertain
    • Not exactly a rhetorical question, genuinely curios of whether or not you are terrified

Be terrified?

  • Abrupt
  • simple
  • it’s obvious

It’s you I love, perfect man, Greek God, my own;

  • Getting bigger
    • pebble, bee
    • gravel, bird
    • brick, cat
    • boulder, pig
    • Turning natural things into stone
  • Her pain, jealousy- love gone bad, has given her the power to do all this damage
  • Wasn’t I beautiful?
    • you treated me like the monster which turned me into the monster
