Off the Record

I interviewed someone working at an NGO in Singapore who works with ex-offenders. They gave me information on censorship in Singapore but didn’t want me to quote them. They felt that censorship is a huge issue in Singapore around drug abuse. Crime is hidden and Singapore is portrayed as the “fine city.” If people acknowledged that it was a problem and talked about it rather than burying it under the carpet, Singapore would be far more better off.
