LO4—Start of the Swim Season

Learning Outcome 4

One of the things I am most nervous about going into IB is whether or not I will be forced to quit swimming. Swimming is one of those sports that require you to commit an insane number of hours throughout the year. Last year I was swimming 7 times a week and doing 2-3 dryland sessions. This would mean training for up to 16 hours a week! I could barely manage to do that in FIB, so to be very honest I am not too sure of how I can do that in IB.

After talking to other swimmers from the grades above, I have come up with goals for myself to help balance IB and swim. They are to:

  1. Making the most of the weekends
  2. Doing homework the day it’s assigned
  3. Making the most of frees
