Our dance will be inspired by the popular tradition of the Carnival that takes place in Brazil. The history of Carnival involved in 1723 Portuguese immigrants coming to the Brazilian colony and bringing their customs with them. At this time the Carnival was originally called the Entrudo, which was the celebration of food, music and friendly battles using water. People were able to attack one and other without warning and because this included wealthy and poor, Entrudo everyone was more or less equal. Through this dance, we are going to be telling the story of the great Carnival and its history. Men and women having fun, bright colours, loud music and water fight through the music and our movements.
