In this year’s CultuRama, South Korea will bring a traditional fan dance (부채춤), a voguing piece and a kpop piece done to Hyuna’s widely known “어때” song to the stage. To celebrate 50 years at UWC through a 2021 lens, we aim to represent unity and diversity throughout our dance. The fan dance embraces the beauty of South korea’s traditional roots, whilst the voguing and Kpop piece celebrates the modern aspects of South korea’s community whilst highlighting key ideas such as woman empowerment and inclusivity of the LGBTQ+ community.
