Tajikistan
This year’s Tajikistan dance is lead by Zebo Furqatzoda and Moana Sophie Gregori.
Inspired by the Kulobian dance, we are telling a story of support, community and friendship. The Kulobian dance originates from the Khatlon State of Tajikistan and is known as a group dance, showing a sense of community among its dancers. The dance starts with a solo, which demonstrates the importance of self-motivaion and personal development. The Tajik community supports Zebo in achieving her goals and in expanding her horizons and the UWCSEA community joins Tajikistan in supporting her. In this diverse UWC community, she is exposed to different values, cultures and perspectives, while, at the same time, maintaining her own values. Thus, we are telling the story of her integration, where through support and the creation of new friendships, Zebo is able to share her culture with the community, and at the same time learn from her friends and widen her horizons.
