Since my last reflection, I have completed my Grade 8 exam and achieved merit as my score. I felt I was able to develop my aural and sight-reading skills before the exam, and compared to when I wrote my previous reflection, I felt much more confident going into the exam and felt stronger overall as a musician. Other than this, I haven’t had many new experiences in this area as I haven’t done any new performances or concerts, however, I’m continuing to learn pieces I enjoy, keeping up my musical talent, and even working on composing things outside of school.
Something I aim to do is continue playing piano even when I go to college. I hope to take advantage of opportunities at my college to work with different people and broaden my horizons of the realms of music, applying it to all aspects of my life.
