Mock Exam Reflection

Overall, I am very pleased with how my English mock exam went. I usually set high standards for myself in English, and was pleasantly surprised to find I had exceeded my expectations this time around. It was my first time writing to Paper 1s back-to-back in exam conditions and I can’t really say I prepared any differently to how I’d prepared for in-class papers, so I don’t think I can rule out the possibility that I’d just gotten really lucky with the two texts! I anticipate replicating this grade for the final exam will be very challenging, so here are my three targets for the final which will hopefully aid me in doing so:

1) Linking paragraphs together in topic sentences, as opposed to treating each body paragraph as a separate entity

2) Making sure to address all key characteristics of the text in the introduction (producer, time, place, audience, etc)

3) Writing in a legible manner that leaves no word ambiguous
