I had to first brainstorm ideas in topics which I was interested in such as automation, robotics and economics and finally chose the concept of hybrid aeroplanes. I chose the world studies(economics and physics) as it will allow me to explore different ideas and perspectives. In my first meeting with my supervisor, we discussed how the physics part of this research question would be rather easy as there are numerous sources on the making and working of normal aeroplanes as compared to the electric hybrid aeroplanes. As for the economics part, I already had an idea to talk about the market failure of normal aeroplanes which my supervisor liked, but he also told me to talk about the market structure of normal planes and how it may look like for hybrid planes. We talked about how the structure will mostly be an oligopoly. The first meeting helped me establish a good base for the economics part of the research.
