Final Podcast Round Up

Which three quotes from here link with your experience in the podcast project? What makes you say so? How is this useful fro you as we enter the last three months of the year?

  1. “your talent and your intelligence don’t play nearly as big of a role as you might think. The research studies that I have found say that intelligence only accounts for 30% of your achievement — and that’s at the extreme upper end.”
  2. “It wasn’t strength or smarts or leadership potential that accurately predicted whether or not a cadet would finish Beast Barracks. Instead, it was grit — the perseverance and passion to achieve long–term goals — that made the difference.
  3. “Mental toughness is like a muscle. It needs to be worked to grow and develop. If you haven’t pushed yourself in thousands of small ways, of course you’ll wilt when things get really difficult.”

From this article, I learned that talent is not the most important thing. Although many people think that talent is the leader of what they want to do, if they have no talents and skills, they cannot succeed on their own. But this article puts forward the opposite theory, that the effort (Mental Toughness) is not worse than the talent. When I was doing Dper project this time, I had a lot of places that I found difficult to do. For example, I didn’t know how to make the intro and outro music for introducing me and my partner, but through my efforts plus friends’ help,I still finished the music producing. Beside this,  I didn’t know how to write show notes, I only know that I need to put all kinds of links that we used during the project,  I stayed on the show notes for a while. But after a period of reference and learning, I also completed this task. It is useful because it always makes me confident and doesn’t give up what I can’t do.

As you listen to your partner agreement responses, where do you think you should have thought more about collaboration? Which pieces of advice could you have thought more deeply about and why? Now that you’ve worked with different partners, what is it that you MOST need from a partner during a project and how do you know?

I think that in addition to seeing the final results, the process of cooperation between me and my partners is also very important. In the course of this cooperation, I found that there was not enough communication between us. Although we are all boarders, we can not discuss the details about dper’s homework every time we met. Although we have set up a plan to help us complete the work, but if the time was disrupted, I would  forget about the audio recording one day. I believe that if the communication between us could improve, the task should be more efficient and faster. But in general, my partner and I are very responsible and very cooperative about this topic.

Which part of the tool (see below) was the sharpest for you in this project? Which part do you think you need to spend more time using and why? How would using that tool have helped with this project?

I think for me, through this project, I am more open to others, and “others” can refer to my classmates and my family. For family part,  it’s because the theme of this challenge is to use voice chat (audio recording) but not typing to chat with my family. When I use voice chat, the emotions and inner thoughts that I spoke will be communicated to my parents at the first time instead of thinking twice about it after I finished typing. I don’t have much time to think, and my family they also use voice chat to chat with me and they are happy to do so. As for the relationship between me and my classmates, cause I had many questions that I did not know how to do, after I found there was a question that I couldn’t understand I would go  to my classmates to find help, and they were willing to help me. My partner and I also cooperate very well in this project, so I feel that I am more open to others and the distance between people is closer.

Thank you for reading, have a nice day.
