Dragons Sports Leader (initial reflection)

I feel especially excited about being a Dragons Sports Leader as it combines two of my biggest passions, football and leadership.

To make this activity a success, it would be extremely important to collaborate and work well with everyone involved with the activity. This would include our superviosrs/main coaches, other student leaders, and most importantly the students. This can be achieved through effective communication between everyone, as well to listen to any feedback with students on how to make the session better. We can then speak with the main coaches and collaboratively work on making the next session even better for students.

Something else that would be important in making the activity a success would be to make the activity fun, but educational at the same time. This can further encourage students to not only learn more about football, but enjoy the sport and play the sport more regularly. This connects to SGDs number 3, 4. Knowing that even making a small impact on a small group of people in this large community is crucial in making society a better place.

Finally, because as leaders we need to lead and teach students in the younger grade, it would be extremely important to take care of them well. We need consider the weight of our words and actions, as younger kids often take any information to heart. This means that we need to constantly keep vigilant about our words and actions to keep them safe, as well as to set an example for them.

My biggest hope through this experience is to make football as fun and as safe as possible for the students, and for them to continue playing football, even after the activity has ended.
