This week I decided to go for a workout but because I had been very busy the previous weeks of December, I saw that I was lacking in some of the stamina and the speed that I usually have when I go running on the treadmill. So, I decided to take it slightly easier with the running and tried to work on my walking; specifically walking uphill. Because I’ve always done running on the treadmill, this was a nice change and it surprised me how difficult it was when I tried it. However, I think this boosted my stamina that will help when running and helped me gain a little strength on my legs so they don’t get as tired as usual when I go for walks. It was a lot more tiring than usual as it was the first time in quite a long period of time but it felt good to move my body around again.

Week 4:
I decided to make some bread for Christmas day so we could eat it in the morning. This was a good recipe for me as it was one that I had learned in my food and nutrition classes and it was great for me to develop my skills. I also think that this was a good balance of carbs and vegetables with the soup and the bread that complimented each other and as I was making it, I was conscious of the amount of sugar that went in the bread and the sodium that went into the soup to ensure that even if it was Christmas, it was still remotely healthy and wasn’t just an indulgence. I cut down some of the sugar that went into the bread and didn’t season the soup with as much salt and pepper. This is the bread recipe and the soup recipe.
