Journalism

If the job of a journalist is meant to report news in the most objective and unbiased way possible, what pressures are on journalists which might make this difficult to achieve?

Journalists are constantly exposed to new information and perspectives that the public is yet to find out about and this places a lot of power in their hands. Hence, people in power are threatened by journalists and their stories or potential exposé’s to the general public. Journalists are pressured by the quick spread of news on social media and thus the need to be extra careful with the news they are bringing to the platform. They are also pressured to be the first to publish the news and to have the most real and authentic information. Yet, it is expected to be appealing and profit making too.
